Build Your Own Omelet

Andy on March 1st, 2009

Breakfast with the BOFA’s is back with another BYOB (Build Your Own Breakfast) extravaganza on Sunday March 1st. This time, it’s an adventure in creating your own omelet. We’re trying out a crazy technique that’s shown below.

We have a slew of ingredients including:

  • Sharp Cheddar and Jack Blend
  • Sauteed Mushrooms
  • Bell Peppers
  • Bacon Bits
  • Diced Ham
  • Tomatoes
  • Red Onion
  • Sour Cream
  • Homemade Salsa

We’re also cooking up a ton of roasted potatoes, and toast as sides. As always, we’ll include the ultimate bloody mary bar and fresh coffee, but if you want to bring stuff for mimosas, we’ll love you for it even more than we already do.

Feel free to bring friends, and reply below to let us know you’re coming!

Build Your Own Breakfast Burrito

Andy on July 16th, 2008

It’s been a long time, but we have finally found a good weekend for another Breakfast with the BOFA’s. I was supposed to be in Chico playing in on a UCSD alumni team, but the tournament was cancelled due to the Northern California wildfires. As bummed as I am about that, I’m very happy that it opened up an unexpected weekend were we can have everyone over for breakfast.

We’re doing breakfast this Sunday, July 20th.. after another one of Zid’s parties. We were a little groggy after his last one, but we’re still planning on starting cooking between 10:00 and 10:30. Come then and hang out with a hot cup of coffee as we pretend to be awake.

This time we’re doing “Build Your Own Breakfast Burritos.” They can be as gourmet as you want, or as close to a 3am drunken burrito craving as you can get, because we’re making a ton of ingredients that you can use to make your own burrito masterpiece.

We’re thinking:

  • eggs
  • beans
  • rice
  • cheeses
  • hashbrowns
  • homemade salsa
  • sour cream
  • veggie sausage
  • avocado
  • guacamole
  • sauteed onions and bell peppers
  • mushrooms

We’re probably going to have a couple more sides, but those will get figured out as we get closer to Sunday.

As always, if you want to bring stuff for mimosas, that is great. We’ll have hot and iced coffee, the ULTIMATE bloody mary bar, and I’m going to see if I can put together a cauldron of homemade horchata. We’ll how that goes.

If you want to come, great. We’re going to use this nifty new website as our RSVP tool as well. Just leave a comment to this post that includes who you are, and who you want to bring, and maybe if you are bringing a fancy appetizer or beverage. Feel free to invite others, but just let us know so we can work the numbers into how much food we need to prepare. Comment away!
